Moore Joins the Ladyjacks

Maria Moore has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks for the 2020-21 school year.

Maria is a 5'10 guard and played her high school basketball for the Mandan Braves.  As a senior she averaged 7.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.  Maria shot 36% from the field, 31% from behind the three-point line, and 58% from the free throw line.  She had 34 steals and 10 blocks on the season.

Coach Johnson's comments:

"We are very excited to welcome Maria as the newest member of our 2020-21 Ladyjacks team.  We feel she is a two-way player who will contribute greatly on both ends of the court.  Defensively her athletic ability, intensity, and length helped her be a defensive stopper for the Braves.  We think those traits carry over well to our level and we look for her to make a positive impact to our defense.  Offensively her skills also should carry over well.  Maria should bring another good shooter who can stretch the floor.  She also handles the ball well and appears to have the ability to get to the basket.  We also like the fact that she has played at a high level of high school basketball which should help her take the next step.  Maria is a high character young lady and we feel will be a great representative of our Ladyjack student/athlete tradition."
