Lauren Gangl has been playing intense and solid basketball for the Ladyjacks this season.

DCB hosted perennial power North Dakota Science at the Woodshed Monday night, and though the Ladyjacks played tough and well, they fell to the Wildcats 86-64.

NDSCS got off to a hot start in the game, but DCB battled back to only trail by 2 at halftime.  A strong start to the 3rd quarter though by the Wildcats was enough for them to lead by 11 at the end of the period.  DCB battled hard in the 4th quarter, but the lead was too much to overcome.

DCB, playing good team basketball, had balanced scoring led by Lauren Gangl and Jayla Howard each with 12 points.  Trinity Goggles and Melayna Four Bear chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively while Taylor Keplin and Sydnie Nelson each scored 9 for the Ladyjacks.  Goggles also had a team high 5 rebounds for DCB while Jayla Howard led the team in assists with 5.

From Coach Johnson; "It was another night when our ladies fought hard but came up short.  Two big spurts by the Wildcats, one to start the game and the other to start the second half, probably were the difference in the game. We got down by double digits early in the game but battled back to tie it up just before half.  They got a steal and a bucket to go in with a two-point lead and then opened the game up a bit in the second half.  I was very happy with the effort and fight of the team as the Wildcats are a very strong opponent, especially defensively.  Overall, there Lots of positives tonight to build on."

The Ladyjacks will travel to Bismarck on Thursday night for a big Region XIII game at United Tribes Technical College.  Both teams are tied right now in the MonDak standings, but DCB won earlier this year at home and a win Thursday night would really help them in their bid to host the Region semifinal game later this month.  Game time is 5:30 Thursday on the campus of UTTC.
