Wednesday night, January 29th, DCB women's basketball battled Lake Region State College in MonDak action.  LRSC came away with a 81-59 victory.

DCB and Lake Region battled to a 9-9 tie in a low scoring first quarter before the Royals exploded for 27 points in the 2nd stanza to lead by 12 at halftime.  LRSC continued to extend the lead in the 3rd and 4th quarters to pull away in the contest.  Lauren Gangl helped keep the Ladyjacks close with 6 three point baskets and 18 points in the first half.  Gangl finished with a team high 23 points for DCB while Jayla Howard chipped in with 12 points.  Melayna Four Bears scored 11 for the Ladyjacks as well and Trinity Goggles brought down 10 rebounds in another great defensive effort.

From Coach Johnson; "I thought we gave a good effort tonight against a very good team.  We played without Sydnie Nelson (ankle injury) and that is a significant loss.  Despite that I thought the ladies stepped up and played tough.  We now need to heal up and prepare for the next big week.  We host NDSCS at the Woodshed and then travel to Bismarck to battle United Tribes in a big contest."

The next game for DCB will be Monday night when they host North Dakota Science at the Woodshed.
