The DCB Ladyjacks' WBB team could not overcome a lethargic start on Monday night at Williston and fell to the Tetons 67-51 at The Well on WSC's campus.  DCB was hoping to increase their chances of securing a home game in the NJCAA Region XIII playoffs at the end of February, but offensive struggles at the beginning of the game let Williston State pull out in front.  DCB closed the gap at times, but not enough.

DCB came out cold on the offensive end, only scoring 9 points in the 1st quarter and 23 total in the first half.  They came back and outscored WSC in the 3rd quarter, but a tough 4th quarter did not allow the Ladyjacks to get any closer.  Trinity Goggles led DCB in scoring and rebounds with 11 points and 14 boards respectively.  Lauren Gangl scored 8 points and brought in 9 rebounds in another good performance.  As a team, DCB only shot 25% for the game and only 22% from behind the 3 point arc.  They also had 13 turnovers compared to only 8 by Williston State.

From Coach Johnson; "This was really a disappointing, tough game for us. We were coming off three well played games and thought we had a great shot at picking up a "W".  We simply got out played, out coached, and out worked tonight by the Tetons. They certainly deserved the victory.  It was a night we will need to put behind us.  The schedule is tough the remainder of the year and we need to get back to our playing performance of previous games.  We know we can do it. It's time to redirect for the playoff push as we enter the second half of the MonDak season."

With the loss, DCB remains tied with United Tribes Technical College in the MonDak standings.  The Ladyjacks do have a victory in hand against the Thunderbirds, but still must travel to UTTC later in the season.  The two teams use the MonDak standings to determine who hosts the Region XIII semifinal game at the end of February.  DCB will host Lake Region State College on Wednesday night at the Woodshed in the annual "Jacks Pack" game.  High School students who attend receive a t-shirt and other gifts from the DCB admissions office.  Game time is 5:30 on Wednesday night.
