Ladyjacks defeat TMCC

On Wednesday evening, December 11th, the DCB Ladyjacks overcame a slow start to defeat TMCC 97-59.

The Mikinocks came out hot in the first quarter and led 23-22 after the period.  DCB responded with a great 2nd quarter to take a 57-35 lead into the locker room.  In the second half,  DCB turned up their defensive intensity to pull away.  The Ladyjacks did a great job of sharing the basketball and hitting the open player through the game.  Lauren Gangl DCB in scoring with 19 points followed by Jayla Howard with 17 as six Ladyjacks scored in double figures.  Abby Simons continued her stellar first half of the season play with 11 points and 10 rebounds while Sydnie Nelson contributed 10 points with a game high 6 assists.

From Coach Johnson:  "This was a good way to go into the Christmas break.  It's always good to break after a win and a pretty solid game by the ladies.  Defensively it was a solid team effort in the 2nd quarter and Trinity (Goggles) was huge in getting things turned around with her five steals.  It was a nice night for our team and now it's time to enjoy the next number of days off before the fun starts with MonDak Conference play."

The next games for DCB will be in the Northland CTC tournament on January 3, 2020 when they travel to Thief River Falls to take on Northland, then play Rainy River CC on the 4th.  MonDak Conference play begins the following week.
