Ladyjacks Basketball Signs Washington Guard Jayla Howard

Jayla Howard of Renton, Washington has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks for the 2019-20 school year.

Jayla is a 5'8 guard and played her high school basketball for the Garfield Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs finished 5th in the 3A State Tournament, after winning the Metro & District Championships.  Jayla was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year.

 Coach Johnson's comments:

We are very pleased to welcome Jayla to the Ladyjacks family.  We believe she has the potential to be an impact player for our team.  She is an outstanding defensive player with a high motor.  We expect her to provide leadership through her effort and energy.  Offensively we believe her game will blossom in our system.  Jayla has good quickness and handles.  She had a solid shooting percentage at the high school level but was not called on to be a scorer. We believe she will be a creator for her teammates and also develop into a solid scoring option.  Jayla is a very high character young lady and will fit in well as a Ladyjack student/athlete.
