The DCB Ladyjacks basketball team, down three with 5 seconds left in the game, stole an inbound pass and took a game-tieing three pointer that would have sent the game to overtime. The shot bounced off the rim and to the waiting arms of Sydnie Nelson who sunk a two pointer but with 1.5 seconds left it was too late...... Williston 69, DCB 68.

The Ladyjacks stayed close for most of the game but a 16-4 1st quarter deficit was too much for them to overcome.  In saying that DCB missed 10 foul shots and perhaps could have won this game if a few more had found the mesh.

The Ladyjacks again showed a fighting spirit and never gave up despite getting down by 16 at one point in the third quarter.  A more aggressive defence, lead by the 8 steals of Madison Uhlenkamp, allowed DCB to get back in it.  

Victoria Obergfell returned to the lineup and lead both teams in scoring with 26.   Breanna Thompson was the top rebounder with 6.  

Coach Wayne Johnson noted the teams never say die attitude.  "We played to the end, the way the game is supposed to be played!" 

The Ladyjacks will play Thursday January 31st (Originally scheduled for Wednesday the 30th) at Lake Region State College.  The harsh weather has caused numerous postponed game throughout the state.  

Game time on Thursday is 6:30pm.
