Games against Alumni can be scary! "Your never sure how your team will respond vs former players", stated Head Coach Wayne Johnson.  The North Country All-Stars, made up of former DCB players, got off to a 15-12 lead, proving that the coaches worries were legitimate.  "As I figured our Alumni came to play!" added Johnson.  The Ladyjacks got their game together late in the first quarter and pulled away in the second quarter on their way to a 39-24 half-time lead.  The Ladyjacks eventually outshot the All-Stars, in particular from the 3-point line, where they poured in a season high 42 points on 14 of 37 shooting.  DCB cruised to a 76-52 win pushing them to 6-4 on the season.

DCB had 8 different scorers with Victoria Obergfell leading the way with 26.  Maddie Uhlenkamp had 11 points while Ellie Messmer joined the two in double figures with 10.  Obergfell and Kinze Martinson lead the Ladyjacks on the boards with 8 rebounds each.

The Jacks controlled the ball well giving up just 8 turnovers and picking up 18 steals.  Sydnie Nelson was the top passer with 5 assists while Taylor Keplin added 4.

Coach Johnson thought that conditioning and solid defense made the difference.  "We did a pretty good job defensively of staying in front of our assignment and also came up with a lot of deflections by getting in our gaps".

DCB (6-4) has a busy week ahead of them before the Christmas break.  They host Turtle Mountain Community College on Tuesday at 6:00pm at the Woodshed, and travel to Wahpeton for games Friday and Saturday at the AmericInn Classic Tournament.  Friday they battle Jamestown JV at 1:00pm and Saturday they play Bryant and Stratton College of Wisconsin (4-3) at 11:00am.
