Coach Wayne Johnson put it this way; "In spite of the loss, this was a good game for us.  We need to be able to handle the pressure applied both defensively and offensively by good teams.  The Wildcats are always one of the top teams in the MonDak so we are happy to prove to ourselves that we can play with the better teams in the MonDak."

The Ladyjacks fell 62-52 to the Wildcats of NDSCS on the last day of the MonDak pre-season tournament in New Town, but the game was close throughout.  The Ladyjacks put up a 7-0 lead much to the shock of the veteran NDSCS team.  The Wildcats can at times have 5 sophomores on the floor, they have 6 in total.  The Ladyjacks played with just two with Victoria Obergfell not healthy.  The Ladyjacks maintained the effort in the first half going to the locker room down by just two.

The third quarter was the difference for the Wildcats as they used a quick tempo offense to out-run the Ladyjacks at times building up a double-digit lead.  DCB fought back in the fourth cutting the lead to 5 but that was as close as they could get eventually falling by ten.

Madison Uhlenkamp lead the team with a great effort.  She was the Ladyjacks top scorer with 18 points on just 10 field goal tries, was the top rebounder with 7 and picked up two assists and two steals.  Abby Iverson had 10 points and 3 rebounds, Sydnie Nelson chipped in with 9 points and 4 rebounds Beanna Thompson had 6 points to go with 6 rebounds.

Coach Johnson was happy with the teams overall depth.  He pointed out that "our point guard play of Nelson and Jazzmin Keplin was the best of our three days at the tournament".

The Ladyjacks will hop over to Belcourt Wednesday November 7th for a game vs the Turtle Mountain Community College Mighty Mikinoks.  Game time is 6:00pm.
