The Ladyjacks came up with a nice victory Saturday afternoon at the Woodshed defeating Candadian Mennonite University by a score of 66-61. It was a back and forth battle with 6 lead changes and 7 ties in the game. The Ladyjacks held a 3 point lead at halftime and built the lead to 8 points in the third quarter before a run by the Blazers found Jacks down by 1 at the end of the 3rd quarter. A big 4th quarter in which the Ladyjacks scored 24 points netted the victory. The difference in the game was from beyond the three point arc as the Ladyjacks had their best long range shooting game of the season making 9 three point goals while shooting 39%. Ellie Messmer had another good performance scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Dior Dioum led the Jacks in scoring with 20 points and made some huge defensive plays throughout the game. Madie Erickson made her 2017 debut with a very solid 14 point and 7 rebound effort. Shannon Smith helped spark the Ladyjacks effort with a 3 for 4 shooting performance from three point range. This was a good team victory highlighted by a very solid 4th quarter. The next action for the Ladyjacks will be in the Woodshed on Tuesday, December 5th when they take on Turtle Mountain CC. Game time is set 6:00 p.m.
