The DCB Ladyjacks softball team have added two California infielders to an already talented line-up for the 2019-20 season.

SS Brittney Villalobos and 2B Lorissa Avila both of Fontana, California played together on both their high school team, Miller High School in Fontana and the California Ruthless U18 club team.

Head Coach Mike Smith watched them play last fall while recruiting in California and Washington.  "These are two outstanding recruits!  They will instantly upgrade our infield depth and are really nice kids!  Lorissa also is a very solid pitcher."

Villalobos batted .577 with a .670 OBP in 25 games leading AB Miller to the Mountain Valley League title.  She had an impressive 15 doubles, 8 triples and 2 Hrs.  She was a 1st team All-league player and was the only Miller player chosen to the Division 4 All South Section State team.  She was a 1st team All-League winner her sophomore and junior year and a 2nd team her freshman year.

Avila had impressive offensive numbers as well hitting .471/.617 with 10 doubles and 1 HR.  She was primarily a 2B teaming up with Villalobos to form a formidable middle infield.  "Lorissa has good hands and a nice bat.  She is capable of playing both 2B and SS.  She has a great attitude.  I'm very excited to add these two quality infielders," stated Smith.

The two join three of their 18U California Ruthless teammates in Bottineau this season.  Earlier the team announced the signing of LuzMarlene Tapia (3B/1B) and twin sisters Vivionna and Vannity Robles (both P/OFs).  The five will join red-shirt freshman Destiny Lewis as a large and very talented California contingent.

The team will release their fall schedule in the near future.
