The DCB Ladyjacks softball team defeated the NDSCS Wildcats three times last weekend earning the right to host the MonDak Conference best of three playoff May 10-11 against the same Wildcats team.

The Ladyjacks won the opener Friday night 9-8 on a two run walk-off homerun by freshman SS Michelle Krahn in the 9th inning.  It was Krahn's third homerun of the season.  Kassidy Cunningham (10-4) went the distance in the circle for the Ladyjacks.  Krahn added a double to her homer while freshman 3B Savannah Fabro and freshman 1B Elisa Clay added two hits apiece.

In Saturday's opener Cunningham (11-4) once again picked up the win going the distance in a 7-3 win.  She also picked up two hits but it was a pair of homeruns by Fabro and freshman 2B Ladaija Fitzgerald that sparked the DCB offense.  Fabro finished with three hits, Fitzgerald two and freshman Catcher Claire Hiebert added three hits.

In the final game red-shirt freshman pitcher Randee Charlo (6-3) out-duelled  2018 All-American Brooke Harder for a 3-0 win.  Charlo gave up just three hits, three walks wile striking out 4 in 6 2/3 innings of work.  Cunningham oitched the final out for her first save of the year.

The Ladyjacks moved up to 9th in the NJCAA Division III rankings released Tuesday and sit with a 19-10 record for the year.

DCB has a pair of home double-headers this weekend starting with a Friday tilt with Williston State College and finishing on Saturday with games versus Lake Region.  Both double headers will begin at 1:00pm at Tommy Turtle Park.   They will travel to Devil's Lake on Sunday for a return double header against Lake Region.
