Softball Adds Fourth California Highschooler

LuzMarlene Tapia joins her club teammates Vivionna and Vannity Robles on the DCB 2019-20 softball team.  The three play together on the California Ruthless U18 team.

Tapia, a 1B/3B, visited the school last week but has been on the radar of Head Coach Mike Smith since Smith saw her play in November in California.  "Marlene is a solid infielder with a heavy swing.  She has power potential and should be a good college player.  She is a great kid and we are looking forward to her joining us here at DCB."

While the fall club season has ended Tapia is currently playing for her high school, John W North out of Riverside, California.

"She came to visit the school with her mother during possibly one of the coldest weeks we have had in North Dakota all year!  She took it in stride and enjoyed her time here meeting her new teammates and working out for myself and coach Getzloff.  We are both impressed with her talent and her work ethic."

Tapia joins Robles, Robles and Destiny Lewis as California recruits.

More 2019-20 signings are expected in the next few weeks as Smith completes his roster for next season.
