Freshman pitcher Kassidy Cunningham of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba was named a second team NJCAA Division III All-American for the 2019 season in which she went 17-6 with 2 saves in the pitching circle for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks.
A heartbreaking 13-12 loss in their third game was all that kept the DCB softball team from advancing to the semi-finals at the NJCAA Division III National Championships. DCB finished sixth in the nation after their most successful season since adding softball 11 years ago.
The DCB Ladyjacks softball team opens their first ever NJCAA Division III National Championships with a game Thursday May 23 at 1:00pm against Brookdale Jersey Blues of Lincroft, New Jersey.
Due to a weather forecast calling for rain this weekend's softball playoff games between the hometown Ladyjacks and NDSCS will now be played at 12Noon and 2:00pm on Friday. .
Freshman pitcher Randee Charlo has picked up the NJCAA Pitcher of the Week and the MonDak Player of the Week after a week where she struck out 29 batters in 14 innings pitched.
The DCB Ladyjacks will play their first home games of the season today at 3:00pm and 5:00pm at Tommy Turtle Park against their MonDak Division III opponent NDSCS.
The DCB Baseball and softball teams are making their final preparations for this weekend as they will head to Glendive, Montana for MonDak games Saturday and Sunday versus the DCC Buccaneers.
