Lumberjacks Get Game One At Nationals

|Binghamton, NY|

The Lumberjack hockey team traveled to Binghamton, NY to play for their 10th NJCAA National Championship. Their first game would come against Mohawk Valley CC; an unfamiliar opponent to the Jacks.

Right out the gate, the Jacks knew they would have a run for their money as the puck was pushed out of their offensive zone frequently. But with the first goal of the game coming from Zach Garrett, the Jacks now had the jitters out. After a few minutes ticked by, MVCC would tie the game up at one with a short-handed goal. From there it was all Jacks as the boys were able to find creases in the defense and capitalize on power plays.

The Jacks would end the game with a 5-1 victory, and now will play Hudson Valley on day two.
