Redhead Gets Red Hot Elevates Jacks Past Tetons

It would take a career high 49 points from Brendan Redhead and a second half rally for the Lumberjack men's basketball team to take down the Williston State College Tetons 100-87

The first half would remain close in the early going. A run just before the halfway point of the first half would see the Jacks go up as many as eight points. Redhead paced the Jacks with 18 first half points. A late run by the Tetons and a three pointer by Freedom Leon just before the end of the first half would give WSC a 42-40 halftime lead.

The Tetons were able to carry the momentum they had from late in the first half into the early going of the second half. A 17-9 run to start the half would allow the Tetons to take their largest lead of the night at 59-49. The Jacks didn't go away as Max Groom and Redhead would start to heat up again. The duo would combine for 51 of the team's 60 second half points. The Jacks would slowly chip away at the lead, a lay up by Redhead would tie the game up at 72-72. As the teams traded baskets it would be a three pointer from Redhead that would put the Jacks up for good. DCB finished the game on a 22-6 run to go on to win the contest 100-87

Redhead's 49 points is the most scored by a Lumberjack since JJ Morris scored 51 points against United Tribes in 2016.  Groom joined Redhead in double-figures with 25 points. Rex Sterling led the Tetons with 30.

With the win the Lumberjacks move to 8-4 overall and 3-4 inside Mon-Dak Conference play. DCB returns to non-conference action Wednesday at Dickinson State to take on their JV team. Game time is set for 8:00p.m.(CST).
