Jacks Cruise Past Pioneers

The Lumberjack men's basketball team would use a balanced offensive scoring attack with 9 players scoring at least five or more points to blow past Northland Community and Technical College 108-53 Tuesday night.

The first half would remain tight in the early going. Late in the half, however, the Jacks offense would find a grove led by guards Wai'apo Louis and Max Groom combining for 19 first half points. Cael Simpson would also contribute five points off the bench in the opening 20 minutes of play. In the second half it was all DCB on both ends as offensively the Jacks held the Pioneers to just 21 points and 29% shooting from the field. Offensively DCB had three players score in double figures in the quarter as Louis poured in 15 more points including three three-pointers, Groom added 12 more to his total and Phil Gibaut tallied 11 points off the bench. As a team DCB shot 67% from the field in the second half and 64% for the game going on to win in convincing fashion 108-53.

Louis led all scorers and four Jacks in double-figures with 24 points, Groom finished the game with 22 points and dished out 10 assists, Gibaut ended his night with 13 points, and Shaun Armstrong scored 10 points off the bench tonight. Randy Harris led the Pioneers with 12 points.

The Jacks improve to 4-2 overall and take on the University of Jamestown JV team Thursday night in Jamestown. Tip-off set for 7:00p.m.
