Men's Basketball Season Preview

Coming off a season where they won 20 games for the first time since the 2015-16 season the Lumberjacks Men's Basketball team returns four players from last years squad and will look to build off that success in Coach Karl Sorby's third season.

A year ago the Jacks finished fourth in the Mon-Dak with 20-11 overall record and a 13-8 conference record. The four players that return for DCB include Brendan Redhead who averaged 18.6ppg last season which put him fourth in the conference in scoring was a First team all-conference selection a season ago. Redhead's fellow Australian and backcourt teammate Max Groom also returns for a sophomore campaign. Groom averaged 13.5ppg last season and shot 50% from beyond the arc which ranked him 1st in the Mon-Dak and 2nd in the NJCAA. Shandon Judd-Danne Anderson averaged 6.3ppg and started 27 of the 28 games he played last season, so he returns a wealth of experience. Luke Valencia was with the team the second semester last year as a redshirt and has a jump on his new teammates on learning the system.

Here are some comments from Coach Sorby, "we are happy that it is October, and we are now in-season! We want to build on last year's success, our guys are working hard everyday to prepare for November 3rd. We are excited to have Brendan Redhead, Max Groom, and Shandon Judd-Danne Anderson back from last year's team along with Luke Valencia to lead this year's group. We are eager to continue to grow together everyday!"

The Lumberjacks open their season Friday November 3rd at the Mon-Dak Tip-off Tournament. Tip-off in New Town against Bismarck State College is slated for roughly 7:00p.m. Stay tuned for updates and ways to watch.
