Jacks Round Out Global Recruiting Class with Six Additions

Dakota College at Bottineau Head Men's Basketball Coach Karl Sorby has announced the program's remaining group of signees for the 2023-24 season. The 2023-24 recruiting class includes a total of 15 signees, hailing from across the U.S., Canada, Australia, The Netherlands, Spain, & New Zealand. DCB finished the 2022-23 season with a record of 20-11, the first 20 win season for DCB Men's Basketball since 2015. The remaining group of signees include:

Jack Rippee (6'1 Guard – Olathe, KS)

Coach Sorby comments: "We are excited about the addition of Jack. Jack has a wealth of playing experience at both the high school and prep school level. At Olathe North, Jack was an integral part of their state tournament run during the 2021-22 season. Jack will be a guy who can stretch the floor for us as well as setting up for other guys, and has the flexibility to guard multiple positions defensively. I am looking forward to working with Jack this season."

Shaun Armstrong (6'2 Guard – Melbourne, FL)

Coach Sorby comments:"Shaun is another one with a vast amount of playing experience from both the high school and prep school levels. Shaun has a smooth looking shot and is a solid playmaker. His size brings some versatility to both play & guard multiple positions for us that will be crucial throughout the season. Shaun is a quality addition to our program."

Shakur Pope (6'3 Wing – Ottumwa, IA)

Coach Sorby comments:"Shakur is going to be a quality "3 & D wing" in our system. His ability to knock down shots from the perimeter fits very well into our system and he is a very good on-ball defender. Shakur's length and athleticism will allow him to guard multiple positions, and assist us on the offensive end as well. We want to welcome Shakur to DCB."

Wylie Shearer (6'3 Wing – Riverton, WY)

Coach Sorby comments:"Wylie is a big-wing, small-ball 4 type who has a high IQ, a QUICK, smooth shot, and a good rebounder on both ends. He will have no trouble with the physicality of the college game. Wylie had a very successful career at the high school level, and we are happy to have him join our program at DCB."

Lenn Van Der Woude (6'4 Wing – Zwolle, Overijssel, NL)

Coach Sorby comments:"Lenn is an international guy that will add length and flexibility to our program both as a wing and as a forward. His shooting ability will stretch the defense out, and he is a good cutter off the ball. Defensively, he adds some shot-blocking and rebounding ability in addition to his ability to guard multiple positions. It will be a pleasure to coach Lenn this season."

Ricky Adams (6'6 Forward – Las Vegas, NV)

Coach Sorby comments:"Ricky is a quality addition to our frontcourt. He has an ability to score in the post as well as being able to attack off the dribble offensively. Defensively, he has the size and frame to hold his own in the post, and hold guys off the glass. I think Ricky's best basketball is ahead of him, and we are looking forward to tapping more into his talent."

DCB Men's Basketball will open their season on November 3rd in New Town, ND.
