Poor Second Half Sinks Jacks

The DCB Men's Basketball team was held to their second lowest offensive half of the season resulting in an 84-65 loss to NDSCS Thursday night.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair that saw six ties and eight lead changes. An early 9-2 run by DCB gave the Jacks the largest lead of the half at 11-6. Brendan Redhead paced the Jacks early with 15 first half points. Kaleb Larson kept the Wildcats in it with 17 first half points including five 3-pointers. At the half DCB held a narrow 37-35 lead.

Costly turnovers would result in the Wildcats opening the second half on a 15-5 lead to take a 51-42 lead as the first media timeout of second half occurred. Poor shooting and more turnovers resulted in NDSCS being able to stretch their lead to 19 at 70-51. A quick 7-0 run by the Jacks would cut the Wildcat lead back to 12 at 70-58. However, that's as close as Jacks would get with NDSCS finishing the game on a 14-7 run to win by a final score of 84-65. DCB shot jut 38% from the field in the second half and committed 12 second half turnovers. Whereas the Wildcats shot 52% from the field and turned the ball over just 6 times.

Brendan Redhead led the Jacks with 21 points he was joined in double figures by Max Groom with 12 points. Micah Swallow led the Wildcats and all scorers with 22 points.

With the loss DCB falls to 16-7 overall and 9-5 in the Mon-Dak. Next up the Jacks host Lake Region State College Monday with game time set for
