The Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks basketball team is on a roll, winning back-to-back games at the buzzer in the AmericInn Classic in Wahpeton this past weekend. After the Classic, the Lumberjacks traveled back home to play the Nueta Hidasta Sahnish Community College Storm. In their previous meeting, the Lumberjacks came away with a 90-57 victory. The Lumberjacks hoped to finish off the season sweep, as this was the last time these two teams would meet.

Early on, the Lumberjacks' defense came out and controlled the Storm, giving up only 10 points in the first 7 minutes of play. On the other end of the floor, the Storms 2-3 zone defense gave the Lumberjacks some fits right away. It was not long though before DCB would heat up and put some space between them and the Storm. With two minutes to go in the first half, DCB grew their lead to the biggest that it had been all night, leading 57-31. Going into halftime, both teams knocked down some open shots, making the score 64-40 Lumberjacks at the half.

In the second half, the Storm would go on a run to cut the lead to nearly single digits, however late in the half, DCB went on an extended run of their own to grow their lead before putting the final touches on a 119-73 Lumberjacks victory. DCB was able to play well on both ends of the floor, holding the Storm to only 33 points in the second half.

Deron McDaniel and Akok Aguer lead the way in scoring for the Lumberjacks, McDaniels had 24 points followed by Aguer's 22. Every single DCB player would find a way into the scoring column, and five players scored in the double digits.

The Lumberjacks have a schedule change ahead as next home games are now next Tuesday against Turtle Mountain Community College, followed up by Northland Community College to finish off the semester before the Christmas break.
