After a split on the previous weekend, the Lumberjacks basketball team traveled to New Town, North Dakota to play the Nueta Hidasta Sahnish Community College Storm. DCB played well and look to continue the success into the upcoming Thanksgiving break.

It didn't take long for DCB to get off to a hot start. Right away the Lumberjacks were making shots from all around the court, putting extreme pressure on the Storms defenders being one on one. Coach Sorby's remarks were, "true to form, we started off hot, our man to man offense has been clicking. Credit to NHSC, after calling a timeout and switching to a 2-3 zone, they slowed us down for a bit there." The Lumberjacks would post 48 points on the score board and lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, DCB would have liked to have played a cleaner half. Little mistakes were happening but were not enough to let the Storm back into the ball game. The score would not get any closer from there as the final score would read Lumberjacks 90 Storm 57. Akok Aguer would lead the Lumberjacks in scoring with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Other notable scorers for DCB were Deron McDaniel, Loukas Triantis, and Warren Walker with 13 points, Deangelo Bell with 10 points and Surafel Berhanie with 9 points. Coach Sorby took note and remarked "2nd half was a little messy, always tough to stay disciplined with a large lead. Overall, it was a good game to get everyone some playing and a chance for success. We want to keep building on that."

Winning two out of their last three games, the Lumberjacks will be back in action December 3rd and 4th. On December 3rd DCB will square off with Jamestown JV, followed by a match up with Bryant and Stratton College (WI) who come in with a record of 4-6. Coach Sorby commented about this weekend "We have a big weekend next weekend down in Wahepeton at the NDSCS AmericInn Classic, where we will play another D2 opponent in Bryant & Stratton College and Jamestown's JV. Both programs will present us with challenges, and we will need to have a great week of practice to be ready for the weekend," . The Lumberjacks will have five games in the month of December along with two exhibition games against Sisseton Wahpeton College.
