Former DCB Student-Athletes and Coaches are playing for a national championship

3 former DCB Men's Basketball players and 1 Assistant Coach are members of various teams all participating in the NAIA Division Two National Tournament being held now through March 12th at the Sanford Pentagon Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Julian Short played on the 2013-14 and 2014-15 DCB Basketball teams and was an all-academic honoree for the Jacks.  The 6'7 forward now plays at Indiana University East located in Richmond, Indiana.  Julian has helped the Red Wolves to a 25-8 record so far, which includes an exciting 83-81 win yesterday in the first round.  IU East will play next on Friday against The University of St. Francis out of Joliet, Illinois.

Former DCB football and basketball star Tommy Collins is a key member of the basketball team at West Virginia Tech.  Collins is averaging 11.9 ppg and 4.4 rpg for the Golden Bears, who are currently 29-4 on the season and will be playing the College of the Ozarks (MO) tonight in the first round.

2 former Jacks are members of the University of Jamestown team which is down there as well.  Player Terrell Alfred, who played at DCB during the 2016-17 season, is averaging 11.9 ppg and 3.6 rpg for the Jimmies, currently 29-5 on the season after defeating Southeastern University (FL) yesterday in the first round. 

Former Jacks assistant coach Taylor Jones is in his first year at UJ after 2 seasons at DCB.  Taylor and the rest of the Jimmies will face Spring Arbor University (MI) tomorrow morning in round 2 of the national tournament.
