Mens Basketball Preps For Monday Home Game

The Dakota College Lumberjacks basketball team is prepping for a big conference game Monday January 14th against Bismarck State College.  Both teams lost their opening MonDak conference games and are looking to even their record.

The Jacks lost 110-95 to Lake Region State College in their opener while BSC lost 101-88 to Miles City College.

The Jacks stayed with LRSC for most of the game and played well offensively.  They just were outshot by a hot LRSC team.  The Jacks were good at 48.5% from the floor and 53% from 3 point range, normally good for a comfortable win.  But the Royals shot an incredible 64.6% form the floor and 56.5% from beyond the arc.

"This is a shooters gym for some reason"' stated DCB Head Coach Brock Lemon.  Lemon felt they needed to be better on defense but was happy with his shooting noting the play of Jackson Johnson (6 of 8 from 3 point range) and Rodrigo Majarin who had a game high 22 on 8 of 13 FG including 6 of 9 three point shots.

Tyriek Johnson had a strong game offensively scoring 18 and leading all players with 9 assists.

Game time Monday is approximately 8:30pm after the Women's game.
