Jacks BB goes 1-2 to start the season.

The DCB Lumberjacks men's basketball team started the weekend off slowly but finished strong going 1-2 at the MonDak pre-season tournament in New Town, ND this past weekend. The Division II Jacks played three Division I Opponents in the season's first tournament.

Friday's opener saw the Jacks lose 106-89 to Dawson Community College.  The Jacks never lead the high scoring contest.  The Jacks were lead by Tyrie Johnson who picked up 22 points and Faysal Coulibaly who had 7 rebounds.  3 point shooting was the difference as the Buccaneers scored 36 points from downtown.

On Saturday the Jacks fell 78-63 to Lake Region State College.  Rodrigo Majarin was the top point getter with 17, most of it coming from five successful 3 pointers.  Johnson added 15 points as well as a team leading 8 rebounds.

Johnson continued his fine play scoring 25 to lead the Jacks to a 93-87 victory over Miles City in the finale on Sunday.  Dwaine Simmons added 17 points, a team best 9 rebounds and added two blocked shots to cap a fine performance.

The Jacks will head to Belcourt on Wednesday to take on Turtle Mountain Community College.  Game time is 8:00pm following the Women's game.
