DCB Men's Basketball has added five new pieces to their family; Justin Barksdale (Fischer, IN), Joel Ratliff (Dallas, TX), Dante Brunelli (Salt Lake, UT), Alec Metzger (West Jordan, UT), and Davion Pettigrew (South Holland, IL).  In addition,  Erik Palmer (Akron, OH) returns to DCB after only playing in the first semester in 2017-18.

The following are quotes from Head MBB Coach Brock Lemon

"Justin Barksdale is someone who is able to space and stretch the floor for us with his shot making abilities.  His defense and rebounding will help make us better right from the beginning.  Justin's maturity and IQ for the game are things that stand out about Justin.  It is nice to have a forward be able to step outside and make some shots.  Justin will be a very good addition to our program."

"Joel Ratliff adds to the backcourt depth, his IQ and his leadership qualities are something we are really looking forward to having around.  His peers and coaches constantly rave about his leadership skills and how he is always doing the right thing.  I am really looking forward to getting Joel on campus this fall!"

"Dante Brunelli and Alec Metzger both hail from Utah and are two HIGH CHARACTER guys that the Lumberjacks have been looking for.  They are both able to step outside and make shots, but what stood out most about Dante and Alec was their work ethic.  They will spend HOURS among HOURS in the gym or weight room training.  I can't wait to get them on campus and get to watch them work in person.  They best friends, so the comradery between the two will be a nice addition to our program."

"Davion Pettigrew, a transfer from from NJCAA D1 Lake Land College in Matton, IL, is a tough competitor willing to do whatever it takes to get the W.  He does all the dirty work and little things that a lot of people don't notice.  Davion is someone that I think is going to surprise a lot of people."

"Erik Palmer was a member of the team first semester of last year, unfortunately he was unable to return for the spring semester due to some personal matters.  I am so happy to get Erik back.  We wish we could have had him all last year.  He was truly missed as the season went along and I expect Erik to come back with a chip on his shoulder and have a big impact on our team."

DCB finished 2017-18 with a 19-12 record, losing in the Region XIII Championship game.  The Jacks hope to have another fine season this upcoming school year with these additions joining the talented players already in the program.
