Men's Basketball Earns Two Wins Over the Weekend

The Dakota College at Bottineau men's basketball team traveled to Devil's Lake, ND over the weekend to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic. The Lumberjacks won two games in two days at the classic. The Jacks beat Northland Community and Technical College on Friday, November 10th, with a score 78-58. Their second victory of the weekend, Saturday, November 11th, came over Miles Community College with a score of 92-84. DCB has moved to 5-0 for the 2017-18 season.

The scoring was very balanced with the win over Northland CTC. Jibril Wyckoff led the Jacks in scoring with 12 points while Jermaine Smith and Jordell Ross added 11. Antonio Singleton grabbed the most rebounds for the Jacks with 9. Steven Freeman set up numerous Lumberjacks with 6 assists. The Jacks held the lead the entire game with the largest lead being 31 points. 

The Jacks got off to a slow start against Miles CC trailing 13 points at the start of the game. Jordell Ross hit two big 3's at the end of the first half to sparking a Jacks run to close the half with a 2 point lead. He would finish with a double-double scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Cedric Crutchfield had a double-double as well finishing with 14 points and 10 boards. Jibril Wyckoff finished with 21 points connecting on 66% of his shot attempts.

It was a great weekend for the DCB men's basketball team. They are in action again on Tuesday, November 14th, traveling to Jamestown University to play their JV program. The game time is set for 7 PM.
