2017-2018 Men's Basketball Season Preview

The 2017-18 Lumberjack Basketball team returns 6 familiar faces from last year's team that posted a 19-12 record; Deylon Hunt, Steven Freeman, Cedric Crutchfield, Guillermo Rodriguez, Hunter Brandvold, and Jordell Ross. They are thrilled to have 10 new faces joining our family; Jibril Wyckoff, Tyrie Johnson, Antonio Singleton, Erik Palmer, Raybon Lewis, Carl Armstrong, Mark Alvarez, Abdi Amin, Jermaine Smith, and Dwaine Simmons.

The DCB Jacks look to be an athletic team that will push the tempo of the game and cause chaos on the defensive end. The guard's are much quicker and athletic this year, as well as having depth at the guard spots. This should allow the team to apply more ball pressure on defense. The forwards are very lengthy and athletic. Their length should help the Jacks defensively as they will be able to get their hands on the ball and passes more, resulting in them to run in transition. The biggest strength the Lumberjacks have added from last year is depth. The men's basketball team have a number of student athletes this year that can contribute and help get the Jacks back in favor of winning Region 13.

The team this year is one that has potential to be a very special group here at DCB, not only on the court but also in the classroom and in the community. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the Woodshed come Nov 4th as we take on Providence College at 8:00 PM, followed by hosting Mayville JV Nov 5th at 5:00 PM.
