Colorado Standout Signs With Jacks Baseball

Baseball teams are always looking for quality pitchers and cathers and this past week the Lumberjacks got a player that fits the bill in both of these categories.

The Lumberjacks recently signed Matthew Russell from Parker, Colorado. Russell is a prospect from the Slammers Baseball Club in Colorado, which is coached by John Cronican.

Coach LaCroix said about Russell;  "Matthew brings to DCB a side arm action on the mound, something that we currently do not have. After an injury plagued campaign last spring,  he brings something behind the plate that we need.  Injuries are part of the game and always will be, but Russell has proven to be a durable player and one that can take somewhat of a beating behind the plate. We fully think he will make a big impact for us behind the plate and on the mound."

Russell is expected to bring energy and enthusiasm to the Jacks.  "I am excited to come to DCB for the paramedics program and to play baseball, excited to be a Lumberjack" Russell had commented.

Russell joins another recent addition, Billy Patmore, for the 2020-21 school year.
