Baseball Field undergoes major improvements.

The Lumberyard has been undergoing some renovations by the grounds crew at Dakota College at Bottineau.  Head Coach Mark Lacroix has taken on the task of upgrading and improving the field to a standard higher them what they currently have.  Major upgrades to the actual field have taken place.  Lacroix, with assistance for his players have planted sod and seeded, edged the infield and pathways and have carefully manicured troubled areas.  "The area in front of the plate has always had trouble draining as it was just too low.  We have fixed that and many other areas with dead or poor grass.  We just need mother nature to take it's course over the winter so that we can get back to the finishing touches in the spring", said Lacroix.

The other improvements included putting some fresh paint on the bleachers and dugouts and cleaning up the public and team areas.  The wind screen also needs some repair, a job Lacroix will tackle in the spring when it needs to be re-attached to the outfield fence.

The work has limited some aspects of fall practises as they have had to "work around" some trouble areas.  Lacroix is determined to improve the look of the facility as well as the payability.  "The field has potential but just needed some TLC", exclaimed Lacroix.

The Jacks will play their first fall games Sunday October 7th at Northland College.  Game times are tentatively set for 1 and 3pm.
