The 2018 Spring Baseball season got off to a great start in Kansas as the Jacks went 3-0, scoring a total of 53 runs in just the 3 games.

Friday First Game Recap

Trevor Feeney drove in five on three hits to lead DCB past Ottawa University 15-1.  Feeney drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the fourth, and a double in the sixth.  In the first inning, the Jacks got their offense started with Victor Terrero doubling to drive in one run.  The Jacks then put up seven runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by walks by Terrero and Jordan Padilla, doubles by Feeney and Jordan Welcome, a single by Deegan Kunnen, and an error on a ball put in play by Brody Moum.  Riley Kluin was credited with the victory for DCB as he had a solid game, allowing six hits and one run over five innings, striking out five and walking zero. Ryan Moormeier threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Moormeier recorded the last six outs to earn the save for DCB.  As a team, DCB racked up 14 hits.  Feeney, Dylan Dougher, and Kunnen each had multiple hit games for DCB. 

Friday Second Game Recap

In the second game on Friday, the Jacks defeated Ottawa University 18-2 on Friday thanks to 12 runs in the second inning.  DCB put the pressure on Ottawa early, taking an early lead on singles by Dylan Dougher, Jordan Padilla, Jarek Lownds, Tyler Legault, and Nick Sumstine, a triple by Victor Terrero, a home run by Trevor Feeney, and a double by Terrero.  Eduardo Vega led things off on the hill for the Jacks, winning the game while going three innings and allowing three hits and two runs while striking out four and walking 0.  As a team, DCB racked up 17 hits in the game.  Sumstine, Lownds, Legault, Jordan Welcome, Dougher, Terrero, and Feeney each had multiple hits for DCB.  Sumstine finished 4 for 4 at the plate.

Saturday Game Recap

Trevor Feeney was dialed in at the plate on Saturday, tallying five hits and leading the Jacks to a 20-3 win over Ottawa University.  Feeney singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.  In the sixth inning, DCB scored 5 runs and were lead by Victor Terrero, Feeney, and Jarek Lownds, who all drove in runs.  JJ Castelvecchi started on the mound for DCB.  He lasted three innings and picked up the win, allowing four hits and three runs.  As a team, DCB tallied 20 hits on the day.  Feeney, Nick Sumstine, Ryan Moormeier, Terrero, and Casey Mack all had multiple hits for DCB JACKS. 

 

DCB will head for Arkansas on Thursday for their spring break trip, playing 9 games in 8 days in both Arkansas and Missouri.  MonDak Conference play will open up on March 30th with games at Williston State College.  Weather permitting, the Jacks will host Williston on Saturday, March 31st in their home openers...
