Ladyjacks Drop Tight Games to Cougars

The Ladyjack Hockey Team dropped a pair of tight games to Sault College this past weekend by a score of 3-2.

3-2 Loss

Neither team was able to find the net in the first period. The Ladyjacks got on the board first when Kindal DeGraeve scored with an unassisted goal in the second period. Sault was able to tie the game in the second. As the teams headed to the final period the score remained 1-1. Sault would take the lead in the final period, but DCB was not going away quietly. Trinity Tanner tied the game with another unassisted goal for the Ladyjacks. It would be the Cougars that would get the final goal however to win 3-2.

3-2 Loss

Just like in the first meeting neither team was able to score in the first. The Cougars scored two second period goals to take a 2-0 lead as the teams headed to the third period. Sault stretched their lead to 3-0 early in the third period. The Ladyjacks had a late rally in them as Madison Crawford would score an unassisted goal to cut the Cougars lead to 3-1. Mary McKay added a goal of her own off a Crawford assist to cut the deficit to one at 3-2. DCB however would run out of time and fall by the same score as Saturday at 3-2.

With the losses DCB falls to 6-4 overall. Next up the Ladyjacks will play a home and home series with ACC Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's game in Brandon will be at 8:15p.m. and Sundays at the Lumberdome will be at 4:00p.m.
