Ladyjacks Sweep NDSU

The Ladyjacks Hockey Team kicked off their 2022-23 season with a sweep of the North Dakota State Lady Bison. Winning 4-1 on Saturday and 5-2 on Sunday.

In Saturday's contest the Ladyjacks got big production out of Jasper Devloo who scored two goals. Kirra Montrose and Maddi Crawford each added a goal of their own. Kara Zelyck did a great job between the pipes with 26 saves. Coach Loucks mentioned that the Ladyjacks played a simple game, and it worked out well for them. Loucks also credits DCB's powerplay and penalty kill play being a key factor in the Ladyjacks pulling off the sweep.

In Sunday mornings game the Ladyjacks got some key contributions from Michelle Landsverk who tallied one goal and added an assist, McKenna Walls helped two pucks find the net with two assists, and Kindal DeGraeve scored one goal and an assist. Hannah Funk got the win at goalie with 33 saves. Coach Loucks mentioned that the third period was the best period of hockey the Ladyjacks played that weekend and that once they got back to playing simple hockey, they were able to wear down NDSU and take a commanding lead.

With the sweep DCB moves to 2-0 on the season. The Ladyjacks are back in action Saturday and Sunday with a split series with the University of Jamestown. Saturday's game will be at 2:00p.m. in the Lumberdome. Sunday the Ladyjacks travel to Jamestown with puck drop scheduled for 2:30p.m.
