Jacks Win on Sophomore Night

Just an hour after finding out they would qualify for the ACHA West Region Tournament the Lumberjack men's hockey team took the ice in "The Lumberdome" for their final home game of the season. The Lumberjacks went out on a high note with a 3-1 victory over Lake Region State College.

Matt Olson put the Jacks on the board first with six minutes remaining in the first period. Leighton Holstein and Jace Thompson dished the assists. The Royals would tie the game up five minutes into the second period. The game would only be tied for a little more than two minutes when Jacob Measel found the back of the net with assists coming from Aiden Morelli and Kolby Adair. The Jacks put the game away late in the third period when Fabian Vik scored, and Measel and Olson had the assists. When the horn sounded DCB walked away with a 3-1 win. Mason Matthew picked up the win in net with 21 saves.

With the win DCB improve to 15-14-1-2. The Lumberjacks close out the regular season Thursday at Lake Region State College, before hitting the road next week for the West Region Tournament in Utah.
