 With their playoff hopes hanging in the balance the Lumberjack men's hockey team needed a big win Wednesday night, and they got it hammering the Williston State Tetons 12-1.

Ethan Siemens scored the only goal in the first period on a powerplay opportunity, Matt Olson picked up the assist. Leighton Holstein made it 2-0 Jacks. Just 32 seconds into the second period, Olson was credited with his second assist of the night, Jace Thompson also snagged an assist. The Tetons made it 2-1 less than a minute later. From there it was all Lumberjacks as they scored 5 straight goals to make it 7-1 after the second period. The first goal of the run came from Zach Diehl, Aiden Morelli dished the assist. Olson then picked up a goal to go along with his two assists, Holstein picked up an assist to go along with his goal. Morelli kept the goal train going and Rory McNabb snagged the assist. The final goal of the period came from Kalen Parent, his first of the season, Dallas Morin and Riley Opperude picked up assists.

The scoring didn't stop in the third period as DCB added 5 more goals in the final 20 minutes. Thompson netted his first of the game to go along with his assist. Riley Rybchinski picked up his assist of the game Olson picked up his third of the night. The next goal came from Diehl who scored for the second time, Morelli, and McNabb each dished another assist. Just twenty seconds later the Lumberjacks would score again. This time it would be Jacob Measel finding the back of the net, and like déjà vu Morelli and McNabb had the assists. Alex Lorenz got in the scoring column next with a powerplay goal. Rybchinski had his second assist of the night and Dale Kjorstad picked up his first. The final goal of the night came for Morin which was his first of the season. Kjorstad snagged his second assist and Kolby Adair got on the score sheet with an assist. When the final buzzer sounded the score red 12-1 in favor of the Lumberjacks. Mason Matthew picked up the win in net with 22 saves.

The Jacks record now sits at 13-14-1-2. DCB awaits their fate in terms if they qualify for the West Region Tournament at the end of the month. Next game up for the Lumberjacks is a rematch on the road with the Tetons Monday at 6:00p.m.
