The DCB Lumberjack Hockey team got back to their winning ways with two convincing wins over the University of Jamestown Jimmies by scores of 7-0 and 3-1.

7-0 Win

The Jacks got the offense rolling early when Tyson Pringle got past the defense for an unassisted goal less than two minutes into the game. Ryan Patterson doubled the Jacks lead just after the halfway point of the period for another unassisted goal. DCB kept the scoring going in the second period when Zach Diehl lit the lamp halfway through the second period off a Matt Olson assist. The Jacks added their fourth goal of the game just before the second period horn when Rory McNabb capitalized on a powerplay opportunity. Leighton Holstein and Patterson were credited with the assists. Like a well-oiled machine the Jacks offense kept rolling in the third period. Patterson netted his second goal of the game on a powerplay opportunity. Phillip Parisien and Holstein were both credited with assists. With under a minute to play McNabb scored his second of the game, Logan Mantell was given the assist. Riley Opperude scored the final goal of the game Diehl and Patterson were credited with the assists. The Jacks won by final score of 7-0. DCB out shot the Jimmies 40-31 and held the Jimmies scoreless on six powerplay opportunities.

3-1 Win

The Jimmies got on the board first in Sunday's game just prior to the halfway point of the first period. After one period UJ led 1-0 despite being outshot by the Jacks 13-6. Leighton Holstein evened the game off a Zach Diehl assist with 8:45 remaining in the second period. At the second intermission the teams were tied at 1-1. The Jacks had outshot the Jimmies 27-13. Phillip Parisien gave the Jacks their first lead of the game, Aiden Morelli was credited with the assist. Morelli netted a goal of his own on a powerplay opportunity to put the Jacks up 3-1. Tyson Pringle and Von Mullin were credited with the assists. DCB won by the final of 3-1. DCB outshot UJ in the contest 37-28.

With the sweep DCB moves to 9-17-0-2 overall. Next up the Jacks play what will likely be their final home game of the season against the Tetons of Williston State. Game time is set for 7:30p.m.
