Beavers too Much for Jacks

The DCB Lumberjack hockey team took on ACHA D1 Minot State Sunday afternoon. The high-powered Beaver offense was just too much for the Jacks as they fell 13-1.

Minot State got going early with five goals in the first period. The Jacks got their only goal of the contest in the first period when Ryan Patterson found the back of the net unassisted. The Beavers tacked on seven goals in the second and an additional goal in the third to win by the final score of 13-1. The Jacks were outshot in the contest 53-12, and neither team had a successful powerplay attempt.

The loss will not hurt DCB in their ACHA rankings as Minot State is a division one team. Next up the Jacks travel to Sidney, Montana Thursday night for a neutral site game against the Griz of Montana. Game time is set for 6:00p.m. The Jacks then return home for a weekend series with Waldorf Friday and Saturday with game times set for 7:30p.m. and 1:00p.m.
