Jacks Falter Against Tetons

Despite having outshot the Williston State Tetons 41-27 Tuesday night the DCB Lumberjacks were unable to get the win falling 3-1.

The first period was quiet early the Tetons struck first scoring the first goal of the game just past the halfway point of the period. Minutes later Ryan Patterson was able to even the game for the Jacks, Ethan Siemens and Riley Opperude were each credited with an assist. After the first period the Tetons held a 14-10 shots on goal advantage. The Tetons only had two powerplay opportunities in the contest and they made the most of one of them scoring the lone goal in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the final 20 minutes. After two periods the Jacks held a 33-18 shots on goal advantage. The Jacks were unable to find the back of the net and the Tetons added an insurance goal in the third to give them the 3-1 win. The big difference in the game was powerplay opportunities the Jacks failed to execute on all five of their powerplays were as the Tetons were able to execute on one of their two chances.

With the loss DCB falls to 3-8-0-2 overall. The Jacks are back in action this weekend on the road in Minnesota taking on Waldorf for a pair of games and a single game against Gustavus University.
