Late Goals Push Tetons Past Jacks

In a game that start fast and furious and saw six first period goals it would be two goals in the final three and a half minutes that would prove to be the difference. As the Williston State Tetons defeated the Lumberjacks of DCB.

The Jacks got things going early with a powerplay opportunity. Matt Olson found the back of the net and Ryan Patterson was credited with an assist. Just moments later the Jacks tacked on another goal this time it was Nick Demchuk lighting the lamp, he as assisted by Aiden Morelli and Brett Janssens. The Tetons were able to respond with two quick goals of their own. All of this occurred within the first eight minutes of the first period. WSC added their third straight goal to take a 3-2 lead. The scoring didn't end their as DCB was able to tie the game off the stick Fabian Vik Kolby Adair was credited with the assist. After the first period each team had 14 shots on goal attempted.

Things quieted down in the second period as neither team was able to score. After two periods the Tetons held a narrow shot on goal advantage of 30-29 over the Jacks. The third period saw both teams have opportunities to score. It was not until a powerplay opportunity for the Tetons put them out in front for good with 3:22 remaining in the game. WSC added another goal late to win 5-3. DCB was outshot in the contest by WSC by a margin of 44-38.

With the loss DCB falls to 3-7-0-2. The Jacks host the very same Tetons in one week in the Lumberdome. Game time is set for 7:00p.m.
