Jacks Split with Jimmies

The DCB Men's Hockey Team earned a split with the University of Jamestown Jimmies this past weekend. Winning 5-0 on Saturday and falling 5-3 on Sunday.

The Jacks were led Saturday by Ryan Patterson who had two first period goals. Leighton Holstein also filled the stat sheet with a goal and an assist. The Jacks outshot the Jimmies in Saturday's contest 34-28. Mason Matthew had a great performance in the net earning his first colligate shutout. Here is what Coach Rybchinski had to say after Saturday's game "Mason held us in the first period and Ryan got us going. We have to do a better job of breaking out."

Sunday afternoons say DCB get goals from Rory McNabb and Logan Mantell it was each of their first colligate goals. Leighton Holstein added another goal on the weekend and Ryan Patterson tallied an assist. The Jimmies scored two goals late to put them out front and give them the win. UJ outshot DCB 46-41 in the contest. Coach Rybchinski had this to say after the loss "we played good enough for 50 minutes plus on Sunday for the sweep, but we couldn't hold off the Jimmies late charge. Their D1 players who played made a big difference on Sunday. This was a good learning tool for us moving forward. We need a full 60 minutes to win games at this level."

With the loss DCB falls to 3-2-0-2 overall. The Jacks are on the road next weekend for a pair of games against Montana State. Friday's game will be at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's at 1:45 p.m.
