Jacks Narrowly Miss Out On Regional Playoff Spot

The DCB Lumberjacks finished one spot short in the rankings to qualify for the ACHA West Regional Tournament and will play their final games of the season this weekend against the University of Mary.

DCB finished ranked 13th in the West, one spot ahead of the University of Texas El Paso.  The last spot unfortunately for the Jacks was awarded to UTEP as they were the Champions of the Texas College Hockey Conference, and thus have an automatic bid.

Montana State University finished just ahead of the Jacks in the 12th spot and will head to the tournament in Tempe, Arizona.

The Jacks defeated the #6 ranked Williston State College Tetons on Tuesday and would have certainly moved up one or two pots in the rankings with that win, but unfortunately again for the the Jacks, that win came two days after the deadline for the last set of rankings.

The team will play the #1 ranked UM, who is ineligible for the Regional Tournament due to being a first year team, in Bismarck Saturday February 16th at 7:00pm and will host UM Sunday night at 7:30pm at the Lumberdome.
