To say this weekend's games were "must win" games might be a bit premature, after all there are still 8 games left on the schedule.  The Jacks certainly played with some desperation and came up with some offensive power that they have been lacking in recent losses.

The Jacks put together two solid wins, 7-1 Saturday night, and 4-0 Sunday afternoon against Colorado State University.

Saturday night the Jacks came out strong putting 15 shots at the CSU net in the first period, connecting on three.  Jack Dunnell opened the scoring, followed by Daniel Nomerstad and Austyn Lorenz.

CSU changed goaltenders to start the second only to meet the same fate as the opening period.  DCB doubled its totals on 2 goals by Wade Thompson and Lorenz's second marker to take a 6-0 lead.

CSU pushed back a little in the third and actually had as many shots as the Jacks, 43, but were turned back by the solid goaltending of Jay Pringle.  Both teams found the back of the net in the period with Kyle Wahoski getting his second goal of the season.  Final score Jacks 7 CSU 1.

On Sunday the game started out a little slower with both teams feeling the effects of an afternoon game that started just 14 hours after their tilt the night before.

Not much happened in the opening period, in fact just one minor penalty was called.  In the second frame the Jacks finally broke through with a trio of goals.  Dryden Bound, Wade Thompson and Colin Van Kommer all scored, seemingly taking the life out of CSU.

CSU tried to mount a comeback in the third but goalie Connor Slipp refused to make a mistake.  He was solid, as he was earlier in the week in Minot, stopping 37 shots for the shutout.

The Jacks Will travel to Williston to take on the Tetons.  Game time is 7:00pm.  Catch the action at https://www.youtube.com/user/TetonTV
