It was a daunting task.  The #9 ranked DCB Men's hockey team got on the bus last Thursday and headed to Denver, Colorado for four games in the Big Mountain Classic Tournament.  They were scheduled to play the #2, 3, 4, and 5 ranked teams in the ACHA West.  The Jacks played well but dropped all four, likely dropping them out of the top ten for the first time this season.

Friday night the Jacks dropped a 5-3 decision to Northern Arizona University.  Daniel Nomerstad scored twice while Wynter Cyr added a single.  Jay Pringle stopped 18 of 22 shots in the net.

Saturday the Jacks dropped a 3-1 game to Metropolitan State University-Denver.  It was goaltender Connor Slipp's first start of the year and he played pretty well stopping 35 of 38 shots.  Nomerstad picked up his 9th goal of the season.

Boise State University defeated the Jacks on Sunday in a tough 2-1 game.  Nomerstad potted his tenth goal of the season in the loss.  It was Tait Carlson's turn between the pipes and he put in a solid performance stopping 29 of 31 goals.

Monday DCB fell 6-3 to the University of Northern Colorado.  Jay Pringle was back in the nets and faced a barrage of shots stopping 46 of 51 shots with UNC picking up an empty-net goal. Goals were scored by Wade Thompson, Tyrell Pompu and Jace Scherr.

The Jacks will hit the ice in Minot Thursday at 7:30pm as they battle the MSU Beavers.  They return home Saturday and Sunday for games vs Colorado State University.  Saturday puck drops at 7:30pm at the Lumberdome and Sunday goes at 1:00pm.
