DCB Hockey drops a 5-3 decision to Weber State.

The DCB (5-5) Lumberjacks hockey team put up a good fight but in the end were not able to sustain the offense they had showed one day earlier in an 8-3 win against Arizona State University.  The Jacks dropped a 5-3 decision to Weber State University (7-7-2) Friday in Ogden, Utah.

The Jacks entered the second period even at 1-1 on a goal by Cody Shackel, his first of the year.  Kyle Peters picked up his team leading 11th point, assisting on Shackels goal.

The same two combined for a goal in the second period with Shackel scoring again at the 9:05 mark.  The Jacks went to the locker room at the end of the period down 3-2.

Weber went up 4-2 before a late goal by Wade Thompson put the Jacks down by just one with just over a minute left.  Peters assisted again, his third of the game, while Dryden Bound added a helper.

The Jacks pulled their goalie and had a few chances but ultimately the comeback wasn't to be as they gave up an empty netter with 32 seconds left in the game.

The Jacks take on Grand Canyon University (8-10-1) Saturday at 4:00pm (5:00pm CST) at the Ice Sheet in Ogden, Utah.
