The DCB (5-4) Lumberjacks proved to many that they are a team to be reckoned with.

Scoring 5 unanswered goals in the third period they rolled to an 8-3 win over the University of Arizona (4-8) in ACHA Division II hockey action on Thursday.   It was their first of four games at the Beehive Showcase Tournament in Utah.

Tyrell Pompu opened the scoring just 16 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal, his 4th of the season.   ASU tied it to send the teams to their dressing rooms even at 1.

ASU would get on the board first to start the second period scoring just 58 seconds in on the power-play. just 1:30 later DCB would tie it on a Austyn Lorenz's second goal of the season.  Kolby Chen and Colin Van Kommer picked up assists.  Daniel Nomerstad would put the Jacks up by a goal at 13:20 of the period on a pass from Chen. The third period was all Jacks.  Nomerstad opened the scoring at just 17:26 on a fine solo effort, his third goal of the year.  Wade Thompson followed with his third goal of the season with helpers going to Kyle Peters and Bailey Robertson.  Peters then connected for his 4th of the season from Van Kommer, followed by Robertson from Chen and Wynter Cyr.  With just over a minute left to play Logan Robinson scored his first goal of the season, a short handed goal on a pass from Donald Gaudreault, making the score 8-3 Jacks.  Jay Pringle, who has started all 9 games for the Jacks in goal, picked up his 5th win stopping 28 of 31 shots.
