Lumberjacks Split with Concordia

The Lumberjack Hockey team picked up a victory in their home opener this past weekend. Kolby Chen (Deloraine, MB) scored his first goal of the year to get the Jacks off to an early lead.  In the second period, Kyler Moore (Firestone, CO),  Cody Longie (Bottineau, ND) and Zach Garrett (Creighton, SK) scored for the home team who took a 4-0 lead. Concordia-Wisconsin scored the next three goals to make it interesting. Cole Anderson got the hat trick for the Falcons. Jay Pringle (Boissevain, MB) got the win for the Jacks making 22 saves.

In the second game, the Lumberjacks fell 9-5 to the Falcons. Dillon Beaudoin (Wakaw, SK) started for the Jacks and allowed 5 goals on 22 shots.  Connor Slipp (Calgary, AB) came in relief and had 15 saves and 3 goals allowed in 25 minutes. With the split on the weekend the Lumberjacks are 2-5 on the year and travel to St. Peter, MN to face off against the Gustavus Gusties JV.  Game times are 7 PM and 2 PM Saturday and Sunday on Gustavus Campus.
